What data we collect and why

Website visitors. When you browse our website and consent to analytical cookies, we collect information about how you use the website – such as the pages you visit, the browser and operating system you use, and your approximate location – in order to maintain and improve the website. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for this purpose. See the “Cookies” section below.

Contact inquiries. When you contact us through our contact form or by email, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided) and the content of your message, so that we can respond to and administer your inquiry.

Job applicants. When you apply through our careers page, we collect your name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn or portfolio link (if provided), the position you apply for, your message and your CV/resume, so that we can evaluate your application and manage the recruitment process.

Legal basis for processing

  • Your consent – for analytical and marketing cookies, and for storing your application to consider you for future opportunities (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR);
  • Our legitimate interests – to operate and secure the website, to administer inquiries, to carry out recruitment, and to establish or defend legal claims (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR);
  • Performance of, or steps to enter into, a contract – where your inquiry relates to a contract with us (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • Compliance with a legal obligation – where we are required to keep records (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

We do not collect special categories of personal data. Please do not include such data in your message or application unless it is strictly necessary.

Who we share your data with

  • Our service providers, such as website hosting, email delivery, website analytics and IT support providers, acting on our behalf;
  • Legal and professional advisers and competent authorities, where necessary to protect our legitimate interests or to comply with the law.

Some of our service providers (for example, website analytics and anti-spam providers) may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards – such as the European Commission’s adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses – to protect your data.

How long we keep your data

  • Contact inquiries not related to a contract: up to 1 year after we respond;
  • Data relating to a concluded contract: up to 10 years after the contract ends;
  • Job applications: for the duration of the recruitment process and up to 6 months afterwards; with your consent, we may keep your application longer to consider you for future opportunities;
  • Cookie data: as described in the Cookies section.

Subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • request the rectification or completion of your data;
  • request the erasure of your data;
  • request the restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • request the portability of the data you provided to us;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (more information at vdai.lrv.lt).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@scanwatch.tech.
